Job Description: Legal Assistant Manager/Head
Experience Required: 10-20 Years- LOGISTICS INDUSTRY/IT INDUSTRY
Location: Marol, Mumbai
Job Summary:
The Legal Assistant Manager/Head will be responsible for managing and overseeing all legal aspects of the company's operations, including contract management, intellectual property issues, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the service industry, particularly with international business, and a proven track record of leading a legal function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Affairs Management: Oversee and manage all legal affairs of the company in India and internationally.
- Contracts and Agreements: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements to support business operations.
- Intellectual Property: Manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
- Regulatory Compliance: Provide legal guidance on regulatory matters affecting the business and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Handle litigation and the dispute resolution process, including managing external counsel as necessary.
- Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks and safeguard the company's interests.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure legal compliance and support the company's business objectives.
- Legal Updates: Stay updated on changes in Indian laws and regulations impacting the business and ensure timely implementation of necessary adjustments.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience: Over 10 years of work experience in the legal field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role heading the legal function.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience working with mid-sized corporates, particularly in the service industry with international business exposure. Preference will be given to candidates from the IT/ITes industry.
- Education: Law graduate/postgraduate from a recognized institution.
- Contract Management: Strong expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements.
- Intellectual Property: Proven experience in managing intellectual property issues.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of regulatory compliance and legal requirements in India and international markets.
- Litigation Skills: Solid experience in handling litigation and dispute resolution.
- Communication Skills: Excellent drafting and communication skills.
- Leadership: Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective legal strategies to support business objectives.
