Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in India. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a comprehensive array of accounts payable and month-end close tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.

This role requires effective communication skills, as it involves coordinating with teams across various time zones in the US and Europe.
Role and responsibilities
    • As our Lead/Senior Accountant joining the Finance team from Bengaluru, your effort reaches beyond that of just accounting and finance. This position will be important in being a culture bearer as a Cogniter at Cognite.

    • Besides this, the key role and responsibilityies are

      Accounts Payable Management:
    • Oversee and streamline vendor setup and communication processes.
    • Ensure timely collection and confirmation of vendor bank information and cross-checks with internal records.
    • Monitor and reconcile vendor payments, including scheduling ACH payments.
    • Handle expense management through Expensify, including organizing reimbursement, credit card reports, and managing user accounts.
    • Assist in booking payroll-related journal entries and allocations.

    • Month-End Close Activities:
    • Perform bank reconciliations and compile the balance sheet reconciliation workbooks.
    • Allocate employee benefits to cost centers accurately.
    • Ensure timely entries of journal uploads and credit card transactions.
    • Manage and compile accruals and assist in adjusting journal entries as needed.
    • Manage intercompany transactions and eliminations.
    • Reporting and Compliance:
    • Assist in the preparation and e-filing of US 1099 forms.
    • Support in audit preparations and adhere to audit compliance.
    • Address ad hoc requests and provide support for various audit and compliance projects.
    • Handling and managing the reporting and filing of TDS, GST, Service Tax and other statutory compliances

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Communicate effectively with international teams to ensure seamless financial operations.
    • Participate in initiatives to integrate and streamline finance operations between different software systems.
Qualifications
    • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • At least 4 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable and financial reporting.
    • Strong understanding of accounting software and databases; experience with NetSuite and Expensify is highly advantageous.
    • Good communication skills, with proficiency in English.
    • Ability to work flexibly and coordinate across different time zones.
