Job Overview:

As the Lead QA Engineer at Blkbox.ai, you will lead the quality assurance efforts across our innovative ad tech platform. You will be responsible for defining and executing testing strategies, managing a team of QA engineers, and ensuring that our software not only meets the requirements but delivers an exceptional customer experience, even in edge cases. Your deep understanding of performance marketing will be critical in guiding your team to think from a customers perspective, ensuring that every aspect of the platform works as expected and beyond.

This is a senior role, perfect for a candidate with experience leading QA initiatives, who has a passion for quality and a deep understanding of the performance marketing space. Experience in line management or team leadership is advantageous, as you will mentor and manage a growing team of QA engineers.

Key Responsibilities:1. Quality Assurance Leadership:
  • Develop, implement, and lead the QA strategy for Blkbox.ai, ensuring that all aspects of the platform undergo rigorous testing before release.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive test plans, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure new features and system enhancements are built with quality in mind from the start.
  • Continuously refine QA processes, tools, and practices to ensure they scale with the companys growth while maintaining product quality.
2. Line Management & Team Development:
  • Manage and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing guidance, feedback, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Ensure that the QA team is aligned with company goals, setting clear performance objectives and regularly reviewing progress.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new QA team members as the team expands.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the QA team.
3. Customer-Centric Quality Focus:
  • Ensure testing is always performed with a customer perspective in mind, focusing on real-world use cases and potential pain points.
  • Go beyond testing for requirementsanticipate edge cases, unexpected usage patterns, and user experience challenges to ensure the platform works in all scenarios.
  • Identify and address gaps in product quality that may affect customer satisfaction, advocating for improvements that deliver a superior user experience.
4. Performance Marketing Domain Expertise:
  • Leverage your deep understanding of performance marketing to guide QA efforts, ensuring that the platform is not only functional but optimized for the ad tech space.
  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure that testing strategies align with the needs of digital marketers, advertisers, and agencies using the platform.
  • Provide insights on how to improve ad tech performance, spotting potential issues that could affect campaign outcomes or user engagement.
5. Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues, coordinating with developers to ensure prompt resolution of defects.
  • Analyze and report on product quality metrics, identifying patterns in defects and addressing them systematically.
  • Ensure that issues are thoroughly documented, prioritized, and communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
6. Continuous Improvement & Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, development, and customer success to ensure QA efforts are integrated into all stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the QA team and across the organization, fostering a mindset of proactive problem-solving and accountability for product quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure that Blkbox.ais QA practices remain cutting-edge.
Key Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in QA, with at least 2+ years in a lead or management role, preferably within performance marketing, ad tech, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing or mentoring teams, with strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must have deep domain knowledge of performance marketing, understanding the unique challenges and customer needs in this space.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience working closely with developers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
  • Ability to create and implement comprehensive test strategies, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.

Soft Skills:

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Highly inquisitive: You are naturally curious and proactive about discovering issues, particularly edge cases, that may not be immediately obvious.
