We are seeking a talented, collaborative, high-energy software professional with extensive technical expertise and a passion for software craftsmanship to help maintain current and build and test the next generation of our cloud-based data pipelines, embedded APIs, web services, and web applications. are critical components of the clinical workflow when embedded in today's electronic health record systems and pharmacy systems.

This is a highly visible technical role within the Clinical Effectiveness Engineering organization.
Our product portfolio is hosted primarily in Azure with some AWS components and includes a wide variety of technologies including (but not limited to): Java, C#, Oracle, and SQL Server. From a technology perspective, this role will fully engage as an engineer on project work, while ensuring the team and tech stack is staying current with new and emerging technologies. From a leadership perspective, while this role will have zero direct reports, there is an expectation that they will spend time training and training and elevating Associate and Senior engineers.
What you will do:
Join a development team (squad), providing engineering best practices, leadership, and best practices to help ensure project deadlines and roadmap objectives are met. Mentor teammates in an open, respectful, flexible, empathetic manner while seeking out mentoring opportunities. Design services and systems using well accepted design patterns to allow for iterative, autonomous development and future scaling. Foster a culture of delivering praise and constructive feedback within their team while actively demonstrating these behaviors. Consistently helps their teammates overcome obstacles, resolve blockers, and complete work tasks. Keep current with new and emerging technologies, and ensure relevant information is both socialized with the other engineers, as well as advocated for to use within technology stack. Rotate through primary and secondary operational support and participate in product incident management.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience.
7+ years of professional experience with object-oriented or functional programming using languages such as Java or C# Experience utilizing cloud native technologies to deliver software solutions, especially refactoring legacy systems to be cloud native Strong ability to plan, commit, and deliver work for an entire project Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks Comfortable working with relational database engines (SQL Server, Oracle preferred) Experience working in an agile scrum environment Demonstrated success leading and mentoring engineers, providing feedback, doing code reviews, and working to build a happy and successful team
Open to working in both Java and C# Experience with REST web services and web applications Experience with enterprise application technologies (e.g. Java EE, Spring, or .Net) Proficient on the command-line and with writing shell scripts Ability to collaborate well on a cross-functional team Ability to imagine yourself in the customer's shoes Knowledge of cloud technology (e.g. AWS, Azure, Docker, or Kubernetes) Knowledge of application security practices Experience with content and data pipelines Experience with Agile software development Experience with Windows and Linux Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Oracle databases Experience in developing and troubleshooting database stored procedures Experience with SQL performance tuning Experience with web UI technologies (e.g. Bootstrap, JQuery, or React) Experience in a highly-regulated industry
Azure/AWS certifications are a plus. Industry experience in the health care sector is a plus. Approaches work with a strong sense of urgency and leads team to have the same drive.
Normal office environment - 2 days a week.
