Your role in the Team
Lead Product Designers are key stakeholders in the team that ideates, designs and deliver products.
This position will guide an existing team of designers and work with our technology and product teams to translate strategy into product. We're looking for someone who can own the design process from discovery to delivery on major projects and set the standard around design best practice and strategy. You'll also work closely with our UX researcher to build our understanding of client needs, and you'll be a strong advocate for the client voice within the division. You'll also be willing to conduct client research yourself when the need arises.
You'll contribute to a culture of experimentation and iterative development at IG, developing solutions that deliver innovation and help to continuously improve our existing offering.
What You'll Do
- As our Lead Product Designer, you'll be a key figure in the teams that help ideate, design, and deliver our products.
- You'll set the standards our designers follow and operate as a thought leader within product and tech to develop best practices that will help us turn ideas and concepts into trading experiences that clients love.
- You'll also be an expert practitioner with a passion for delivering on what our clients need, and you'll be excited to work with our users directly to gather the insights we require to do this. We'll expect you to take the lead on more complex and critical projects, and work with lead designers from other divisions to build a community of practice in IG and share and develop design best practices.
- As a Lead Product Designer, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of UX delivery project, from iterative quick wins to big ticket transformational product development.
- You will work closely with our divisional Product team, APAC & ME commercial stakeholders, designers and UX researchers where you'll not only deliver exceptional work yourself, but you'll help others to excel.

What You'll Need For This Role
- Team management skills, and a growing track record of helping develop your team of designers is must(at least 5-8 years)
- A compelling portfolio showcasing your design and discovery process, problem solving skills, research experience and the impact of your work on real life products and your strong understanding of design thinking and UX methodologies
- Experience in working collaboratively with tech, commercial and product stakeholders. Exceptional communication skills are a must
- Knowledge of front-end development frame works for better communication with development teams is also highly desirable
- Experience in working proactively to identify and interrogate client problems based on design and commercial challenges, and with qualitative and quantitative user experience methodologies to help validate these by testing design prototypes and more advanced builds
- Proficiency with collaborative design, prototyping and brainstorming tools (e.g. Figma, Miro, Airtable).
