About The Role
We're looking for a Lead Conversation Designer, with minimum 6 years of experience in crafting exceptional user experiences in digital products. This role is perfect for someone who's passionate about pioneering seamless, human-centered interactions that merge conversational AI with robust UX principles. You'll lead the design of engaging and strategic conversations for conversational AI projects across Flipkart fostering intuitive and meaningful interactions that build trust and deepen user engagement. As an experienced design lead, you can communicate effectively across teams, mentor junior designers, and drive innovation in line with business objectives. Your strong analytical and empathetic approach ensures your designs are not only creative but grounded in user research and data-driven insights.
About The Team
You'll be joining the Flipkart Design team which comprises of a diverse and highly talented group of product designers, UX researchers, creative designers, content & conversation designers.
You are Responsible for
- Strategic Design Leadership: Define and shape the vision for conversational interfaces across multiple projects, balancing user needs with business goals.
- User-Centric Flow Design: Rapidly understand project priorities and user goals, translating them into clear, structured conversation flows and comprehensive workflows.
- Advanced Dialog Specifications: Develop detailed design specifications and dialog flows, especially for high-priority interactions, ensuring clarity and precision in every conversation turn.
- End-to-End Product Thinking: Drive conversational design with a holistic approach, ensuring that conversational interactions contribute to a cohesive customer journey and broader business goals.
- Stakeholder Communication and Presentation: Clearly communicate complex design concepts and the value of conversation design to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- User Research and Analysis: Integrate insights from user research and conversational analytics to refine flows, optimize user satisfaction, and ensure continuous improvement of the conversational experience.
- Data-Driven Optimization and Experimentation: Regularly review conversational data and conduct A/B testing on flows to make informed, data-driven design enhancements that improve engagement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and other designers to ensure conversational experiences align seamlessly with overall product vision and UX design.
- Designing for Scalability: Develop scalable design systems for conversational components, supporting easy updates and adjustments across multiple regions and use cases.
- Mentorship and Guidance: Provide design guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a culture of innovation, empathy, and excellence within the team.

To Be Considered For This Role, You Should Have
- Experience & Background: Minimum 6 years of experience in conversation design with a portfolio demonstrating innovative conversational solutions.
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, Cognitive Psychology, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Deep Conversational AI Knowledge: Proficiency in conversational AI and design principles, with practical experience in tools such as Voiceflow, Dialogflow, or similar platforms.
- Data Literacy and Experimentation: Ability to analyze conversational metrics, run A/B tests, and use these insights to make informed, iterative design improvements.
- Language Proficiency: Excellent command of English; conversational Hindi proficiency is a plus.
- Strategic Roadmap Development: Experience in defining and executing a strategic vision and roadmap for conversational products.
- Multi-Modal Design Proficiency: Knowledge of multi-modal design, creating cohesive experiences across text, voice, and other interaction types.
- Content Strategy and Tone of Voice: Skills in defining and applying a consistent tone and conversational style aligned with brand values.
- Agile and Lean Design Principles: Ability to work in agile environments, adapting designs to evolving needs while delivering high-quality outcomes.

- UX and Service Design Acumen: Strong understanding of UX design principles and service design, with a proven ability to integrate these into conversational workflows.
- Voice and Chatbot Experience: Hands-on experience with designing across various conversational platforms, including voice and multimodal systems.
