Overview
SSOE is seeking a
Lead Mechanical Engineer with a primary focus on thermal stress analysis utilizing Caesar II software. A strong knowledge of piping codes including ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3 and seismic impact is required. You will be challenged with leading a small team located in Mumbai and coordinating with the United States teams. Providing oversight and training to junior staff are also expectations.
Experience leading an engineering design team from preliminary engineering through construction is a plus. Required skills include the development, completion of engineering calculations, equipment sizing, selection, preparation of equipment and construction specifications. Coordination with multi-discipline engineering and design teams is needed to deliver design and construction deliverables
Responsibilities
A Typical Day Might Include:
Mechanical process engineer will be responsible for completing thermal stress analysis of utility and process piping systems, oversight and training of the Mumbai stress analysis team and coordination with the United States based engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of piping codes including ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3 and seismic impact is required
- Be the main contact for thermal stress analysis requests from the United States engineering teams.
- Coordinate completion of the stress analysis utilizing Caesar II with the Mumbai based team.
- Communicate regularly with the Unites States engineering team to resolve piping system design / stress issues.
- Mentor / train the Mumbai stress analysis team.
- Lead a small team located in Mumbai and coordinating with the United States teams
- Responsible for quality, budget, and schedule adherence
Role
If the stress analysis work is not needed, providing support to an engineering design team will be a secondary role. Tasks could include:
- Completing engineering studies, writing reports, developing and completion of engineering calculations.
- Prepare designs for plant installations, coordinate with design/drafting staff, and prepare equipment and construction specifications. Specifications will include major items of rotating equipment such as boilers, compressors, turbines, and pumps. Other equipment will include pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other manufacturing equipment.
- PFD and P&ID development.
- Coordination with multi-discipline engineering and design teams is needed to deliver design and construction deliverables.
Qualifications
Qualifications You'll Need on Day One:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Full-time)
- Familiarity with ASME process piping codes B31.1 & B31.3 & similar required.
- Experience with Caesar II stress analysis software is required.
- Lead a small size team across various office globally.
- Experience of managing remote teams.
- Must have good writing and verbal communication skills.
- Should be ready to work for a couple of hours in the evening to coordinate with international teams.
- Candidates should have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
