Experience Range-7yrs +
Required Qualification-BE/BTECH. (7-12 years) or Diploma (10-15 years) in Mechanical Engineering with experience of working in industrial electronics industry preferably Energy Metering in the respective domain
Job Location-Kolkata (WFO).
Job Responsibilities: -
- Design and development of smart meter products including communication modules as per Indian metering standards (IS) and IEC standards.
- Prototype development and verification for design compliance
- DFA and DFM with suppliers for plastic and metal parts
- Working closely with hardware designers, layout engineers for hardware-mechanical integration
- Creation of 2D drawings of components, sub-assemblies and products.
- Performing tolerance analysis for part and assembly level
- Material selection for plastic and metal parts as per product requirement
- Verification and validation of parts & sub-assembly and product.
Skills:-
- Design and development of plastic & metal parts for electro-mechanical products.
- Expertise in the use of 3D modelling software Preferred (Solidworks).
- Knowledge of mold flow result interpretation & basic mold design
- Experience of working closely with local and global suppliers for prototypes and design optimization.
- In-depth understanding of Machining parts, Surface treatments, finish / coatings (Metals), joining techniques viz. Soldering, Brazing, Riveting, Crimping, and other manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of good drafting practice including geometric tolerance processes, and technologies.
- Knowledge of IS and IEC standards related to smart meters will be preferred.
- Knowledge of Material Selection
