About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Enterprise Risk Officer in the Climate Risk Oversight Team.

The Climate Risk Oversight Team is responsible for managing the execution of Enterprise Risk's plan to embed climate considerations into the company's risk management framework. The plan consists of a number of work streams to enhance risk management practices to identify, measure, monitor, report and manage the financial and non-financial risks posed by climate change. The team is looking for a highly motivated individual that will be responsible for a variety of climate-related risk activities that support the Climate Risk Oversight Team's remit.


In this role, you will:

  • Support the onboarding and integration of Climate data and translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Support the implementation of Corporate Risk's climate integration enhancement plans across multiple workstreams such as:
    • Contributing to the development of education, awareness, and communication activities to promote integration of climate considerations into risk management programs
    • Assist the development of climate-related risk reporting through working collaboratively across IRM
    • Aide the scenario analysis & stress testing workstream and data routines by providing market research
  • Become a SME for the businesses we support and the data sources we leverage. Be fully integrated into operations, know the business, understand key drivers and be in-sync with priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate data from multiple business processes and document processes.

  • Identify and define business requirements and translate data and business needs into research and recommendations
  • Participate in all group technology efforts including design and implementation of database structures, analytics software, storage, and processing
  • Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported area
  • Ensure adherence to data management or data governance regulations and policies with proven hands-on experience (this now includes the repetitive point from below)
  • Collaborate and consult with more experienced consultants and with internal partners in technology and other business groups and external vendors
  • Knowledge and understanding of Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to perform functional testing of system enhancements
  • Knowledge and understanding of relational databases
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems
  • Knowledge and understanding of database querying and creating ad hoc reporting results using SQL/ Python or similar querying methods.
  • Experience in testing and reporting data validation.
  • Strong understanding of AGILE methodology and hands-on experience handling AGILE tools like JIRA
  • Experience on reporting tools like PowerBI and Tableau.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Risk Management experience (Compliance, Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Audit, Legal, Credit Risk, Market Risk, IT Systems Security, Business Process Management) or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, , or data / analytics related major
  • 2+ yrs. of experience in banking or analytics related industry
  • Data Analysis background to analyze & publish reports
  • Experience in data reconciliation & data management
  • Expertise in creating reports in Excel & PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Tableau Reporting Tool
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong desire to learn climate / sustainability related risks & opportunities
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and storyboarding
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment
  • Ability to translate and present complex data in a manner that educates, enhances understanding, and influence decisions
  • Knowledge and understanding of ever-evolving regulatory environments and governance processes
  • Experience conducting meetings, presentations, and status reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking and related market developments (not sure what economic climate means)
