Job Overview:
As the Leader of Incoming Goods Inspection & Component Kitting Quality Assurance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and compliance of raw materials, components, and kits essential for our manufacturing processes. You will lead a team responsible for inspecting incoming goods, conducting quality checks, and overseeing the kitting processes to support efficient production operations. Your expertise in quality assurance, attention to detail, and leadership skills will contribute to maintaining high-quality standards, minimizing production disruptions, and optimizing the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Incoming Goods Inspection:
- Develop and implement comprehensive inspection procedures for incoming raw materials and components.
- Lead a team to perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address and resolve quality issues related to incoming materials.
- Utilize statistical sampling methods to ensure representative inspection of incoming goods.
Component Kitting Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the kitting process, ensuring accurate assembly and packaging of components for production.
- Develop and implement quality control measures for component kitting, including kit accuracy and completeness checks.
- Collaborate with the production team to understand kit requirements and ensure timely availability of components.
- Implement traceability measures to track and record components used in each kit.
Quality Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of incoming goods inspections and component kitting activities.
- Generate reports on inspection results, identifying trends, and communicating findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions based on inspection results.
Supplier Collaboration:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster a collaborative approach to quality assurance.
- Communicate quality requirements to suppliers and provide feedback on the performance of incoming materials.
- Conduct supplier audits as necessary to ensure ongoing adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Procurement team to address supplier-related quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and manage a team of quality assurance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and attention to detail within the team.
- Support the professional development of team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Collaborate with HR to recruit, onboard, and retain top talent for the quality assurance team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
- Proven 8-10 years of experience in quality assurance, incoming goods inspection, or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management principles, inspection methodologies, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with component kitting processes and logistics in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with statistical sampling methods and data analysis tools.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and senior management.
