The Lead Engineer Emerging Technologies is responsible for Mechanical Design of Aircraft Jet Engine Hot Structures from conceptual design phase supporting RISE technology programs at GE Aerospace Bangalore Engineering Center. Work in this role has the objective of demonstrating the feasibility of concept through analyses and test. This role reports to the Sub Section Manager for Advanced Mechanical Design - Hot section
The role has some autonomy but is focused on mechanical design and analysis of stator components of gas turbine covered by standard practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
Job Description Roles and Responsibilities
- Involves in design and development of aircraft engines components from conceptual design phase till testing and validation of concepts. Develops in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline analytical thinking and technical experience to execute projects/programs.
- An individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills; Provides informal guidance to new team members
- Owns individual moderate complex components and analysis.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Required Qualifications

- MTech (Master of Technology)/ MS (Master of Science) in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical design and analyses of structural/rotating components
- Experience in tools: Ansys and Unigraphics
