If this sounds like you, or you're curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity as we invite you to demonstrate best practice in Data Centre power system design as we look for enthusiastic and suitably experienced Principal Level Electrical Engineer for the Ramboll Engineering Centre located in Gurugram [as above]. The Ramboll Engineering Centre is an essential contributor to the success of the Ramboll UK Data Centre team and wider Building Services team, who together collaborate to deliver exciting and challenging projects across the globe.
Your new role
As our new Principal Power Systems Engineer (Electrical), you will contribute to delivering technical designs in locations throughout the UK, Europe and remote locations around the world. You will be an integral part of the UK Buildings team, working in the Data Centre market in many countries. The Data Centre team work on mission critical and highly resilient electrical and mechanical systems associated with Data Centre and mission critical facilities.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- HV and LV power system design, reviews and checking.
- Power system modelling utilising ETAP including technical report production.
- Proactively co-ordinate critical power system designs with internal and external stakeholders.
- Application of advanced/well-developed problem-solving skills when identifying and resolving project challenges.
- Communication (written and verbal) with all members of a multidisciplinary design team.
About You
- Master's or BEng Honours degree in electrical or power systems engineering, or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Chartered (or en route to) with a recognised professional institution.
- Knowledge of HV and LV critical and highly resilient power systems specifically associated with data centre design.
- Clear understanding of the different electrical distribution topologies associated with data centre designs.
- Proficient in the use of proprietary design software (ETAP and Trimble). This will include but not be limited to short circuit analysis, protection and co-ordination, arc flash studies, harmonic analysis, neher-mcgrath, cable sizing and load flow.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD for developing detailed electrical single line diagrams.
- Experience in data centre and mission critical design in the UK and Europe would be beneficial.
- Experience and knowledge of IEC, BS an EN standards.
- Be aware of on-site installation practice and buildability.
- Ability to explain and present engineering concepts and solutions to internal and external stakeholders (written and verbal).
Qualifications
Master's or Bacheklor's Eng degree in electrical or power systems engineering, or equivalent relevant qualification.
