Profile: Lead Engineer Civil

Location: Bangalore

Overview

The company is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer with some knowledge and experience in the thermal and power industry. As a Civil Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing, designing, and executing civil engineering projects within the thermal and power sector. The ideal candidate should possess a proven track record of successful project management, structural design, and regulatory compliance within the industry.

Responsibilities

Provide drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by Designers/Drafters.

Checking drawings from consultant for matching with NTPC specifications.

Coordinate civil and structural discipline activities with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, I&C and balance of plant etc.

Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications

Providing in-depth and detailed checking of jobs before delivering.

Assess potential risks, material and costs.

Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents.

Effective coordination with draftsmen and other members of the design and management team, whilst providing guidance to Junior Engineers.

Proficiency in Staad or equivalent finite element analysis & other CAD drafting software.

Strong problem-solving and good verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Civil (or) MTech in Civil from reputed college.
• Experience: we are looking for candidates with 15 years of experience and the candidate must have some experience in thermal and power industry.
• Possess good knowledge & Experience of Construction Works.
• Ability to work well with large and diverse team.
• Highly Proficient user of MS Office.
• Attention to detail and ability to comply with Quality.
• Ability to travel occasionally to support other projects.
• Checking drawings that are prepared in-house for meeting drafting standards.
• Strengthen existing drafting team, also including releasing IFC drawings after checking orientation.

Skills required

• Familiarity with NTPC civil/structural specifications
• To coordinate with internal design teams, site teams for clarifications.
• Fabrication co-ordination
• Quick review of RFQ items and compare with IFC drawings
