lead diagnostic platform architect

The overall mission with the role is to facilitate a clear architectural strategy for how system functionality is broken down within the total system and hence allocated to different parts of the system.
- Create, maintain and evolve diagnostic system architecture for our products balancing product requirements with long term strategic goals to secure QDCF and product competitiveness.
- Secure the aftermarket diagnostic system architecture consistency across products.
- The aim is to produce design solutions that balance technical performance, manufacturability and material cost so that the product will be profitable for UD organization.
- Drive and develop business capabilities in collaboration with business owners, other stakeholders and alliance partners.
- Diagnostic applications end user solutions development for product configuration, product state monitoring, product fault tracing and software download.
Key Skills:
Platform Management:
- Focuses on defining and maintaining a set of base strategies and requirements on which development and maintenance of new products for different product segments and variants is to be based.
- The strategies and requirements are developed and formulated based on balancing technology versus business needs and cross functional cooperation with other development departments, stakeholders and alliance partners.
Function Development:
- Identifies the end-user functionality needs and what internal functionality that is required in the aftermarket diagnostic system and architecture.
Communications Technologies:
- Requires knowledge in wired (LIN, CAN, Ethernet, etc.) as well as wireless communication in terms of general principles, standards and protocols for both HW and SW.
Diagnostics & Logging:
- Requires knowledge in diagnostic communication protocols and infrastructure, standards, in-vehicle test and fault detection principles, logging principles, as well as driver interface to diagnostics and faults.
- The discipline also requires knowledge of off-board services such as assembly control, fault tracing and preventive maintenance.
Physical Architecture:
- Includes hardware, wiring and function schematics. For hardware the area relates mainly to the ECUs and their interfaces to its surroundings through connectors.
- Wiring and schematics at Systems Engineering concerns current dimensioning and documentation of schematics.

Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:
- Master's or bachelor's degreeMechanical/Automobile/ Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent.
Additional Important Requirements:
- 10 to 15 years of experience of aftermarket diagnostic system development
- Hands on Vehicle functions and network topology development.
- Experience working in global teams desirable.
- Able to see end-user (or customer) value.
- Proficient in English, spoken as well as written
