We are currently seeking a highly motivated
Lead Cloud Network engineer within our
Platform Engineering. In this role, you will collaborate with technology peers and business partners to build and deploy the foundation for the next generation of modern cloud-native software applications and services for Thomson Reuters. As part of the platform engineering team, you will be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, energetic, and high-performing team at the heart of the Thomson Reuters transformation developing network services for the different cloud providers . This group is nimble and creative and will shape our technology roadmap. This role will be instrumental to enable the current and future world of cloud computing at Thomson Reuters. You will be challenged with identifying innovative ideas and proof of concepts to deliver against the existing and future needs of our customers. About The Role
In this opportunity as a Lead Cloud Network Engineer, you will:
- Developing and refining solutions and services for cloud networking services , focusing on DNS , firewall infrastructure , WAF solution and CDN's etc
- Proactively maintain and manage the networking services in the cloud environment
- Manage and troubleshoot issues which include following escalation paths, both internally and externally, and liaison with cloud vendors.
- Collaborate with technologists across the company to build cloud-native services
- Approaching work with a DevOps and continuous improvement mindset
- Ensure consistency with cloud architectural guiding principles for assigned projects
- Keep up to date with emerging cloud technology trends open source and cloud vendors such as AWS and Azure
- Work in a highly collaborative and dynamic agile team environment with multiple levels of technical staff across various geographical locations
- Support employee development by working one-on-one with staff to define and maintain goals, provide performance feedback and coaching regularly
- Apply principles of trust, transparency, accountability, and ownership
- Anticipate needs and implications of decisions, proactively working to identify, clarify, and resolve issues, and removing barriers within and outside the organization promptly
- Provide cloud technical leadership for software development teams
Our Tech Stack
- Polygot cloud providers, focusing on AWS landing zone services, tools, and processes.
- PaaS (Platform as a Service) or IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) solutions
- Discrete microservices with simple repeatable cloud-native architectural patterns
- Continuous delivery and Infrastructure automation tools such as AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeCommit, Git, CloudFormation , Terraform
- Programming languages such as Python
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking fundamentals, strong understanding of cloud native network services.
- Network Security best practices for cloud
- Serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions
- Cloud Monitoring such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail and Datadog
Strong understanding of one firewall technology like checkpoint/palo alto
Experienced with DNS
About You
You're a fit for the role of LeadCloud Network Engineer if you have:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related technology program preferred
- 4+ years experience in cloud networking using different cloud native services like
- 8 + overall experience in Networking domain
- Experience building network services following cloud-native architecture methodologies running in the public cloud and experience with operations
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python
- Comfortable working in Windows and *Nix environments including writing scripts
- Experience leading a technical team
