Lead - Battery Pack

Yuma Energy is looking for Lead Battery Pack who is passionate about electrification and has the experience in developing battery packs, BMS and related technologies. You will be responsible for leading integration of Yuma's swappable battery packs with customer 2 & 3 wheeler platforms ensuring performance, reliability, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead technical discussions and integration of battery pack with customer 2 & 3 Wheeler platforms.

Responsible for working with internal & external stake holders in establishing timelines, requirements, & product specifications.

Responsible for linking system-level battery pack requirements with vehicle targets and driving electrical, mechanical, BMS and charging subsystem requirements accordingly.

Coordinates efforts of mechanical design, electrical design, BMS and software teams.

Translate vehicle requirements into battery pack system electrical, mechanical and software requirements.

Manage battery pack Bill of Materials and ensure requirements flow down to component design/procurement activities

Conduct internal battery system design reviews to ensure compliance with requirements defined.

Track Open Issues, communicate issues to all groups and setup meetings as required to close all issues.

Requirements/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical engineering with minimum of 5 years experience in battery pack design, product development and validation.
• Experience in translating vehicle requirements into battery system and subsystem technical specifications and requirement.
• Direct experience with lithium-ion battery pack design and testing with in-depth understanding of battery pack architectures including mechanical, electrical and thermal systems.
• Experience in developing concepts, cascading requirements, design, validation and launching into production.
• Experience and/or in-depth understanding in BMS hardware and software requirements and functionality including knowledge of CAN, LIN and Ethernet protocols.
• Experience leading direct and cross functional teams effectively
• Experience in managing external technology partners/vendors in developing and implementing their technologies.
• Direct experience in getting products certified for compliance and regulatory standards like AIS, UL, CE etc.
• Experience in charging systems will be an added bonus.
• Hands on experience in preparation of DVP&R and DFMEA.
• Demonstrates analytical and critical thinking in NPD and problem solving.
