This position will lead the accounting team for one or more local Sphera subsidiaries. Responsibilities will include managing the daily transactions, month-end close process and completion of general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring the integrity of general ledger balances. This team will consist of 3 colleagues focused on account payables, billing and cash receipts that will report directly into you.

Month End Close and General Ledger

  • Manage monthly general ledger close and variance reporting
  • Review of journal entries and account reconciliations for one or more Sphera subsidiaries
  • Compilation and review of schedules to be used by outside auditors in their reviews and year-end audit
  • Manage tax reporting (sales, VAT, GST, TDS)

Accounts Receivable / Payable

  • Process monthly/annual customer invoices for one or more Sphera subsidiaries
  • Initiate vendor payments for properly recorded and approved bills
  • Review and approve vendor bills to ensure proper expense coding
  • Apply cash receipts as needed

Corporate

  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage and develop accounting staff providing effective coaching.
  • Key contributor on various projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in progressive accounting roll
  • 2-3 years of management experience of accounting and/or finance team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • A high level of attention to detail, and strong organizational skills

Work Hours

  • Mon and Tues work from Bangalore office 10am-7pm
  • Work remote Wed-Fri from 2.30-11.30pm
