Position : LACTATION CONSULTANT
Position Overview
The Lactation consultant at HealthLand forms an essential part of the team.The
primary role of lactation consultant is to promote awareness about the importance of
breastfeeding, and committed to providing clients with the necessary education and
resources to reach their breastfeeding goals. Adept in coordinating lactation services
for mothers while serving as a consultant for medical professionals and patients. The
ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the dietetics domain, coupled
with a passion for children's well-being, to drive sales and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate breastfeeding techniques and patterns of mothers and
newborns.
- Provide education and counselling to expectant mothers on the benefits and
techniques of breastfeeding.
- Offer guidance and support to mothers experiencing difficulties or challenges
with breastfeeding, such as latching issues, low milk supply, or painful nursing.
- Develop individualised care plans and provide appropriate interventions to
address breastfeeding concerns.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as paediatricians and
obstetricians, to ensure coordinated care for mother and baby.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments,
interventions, and outcomes.
- Stay updated on the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in lactation
support.
- Conduct group education sessions on breastfeeding and related topics for new
mothers and their families.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to mothers, addressing their
concerns and anxieties related to breastfeeding.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) certification or International Board
Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in patient facing roleExperience in
providing lactation support and counselling to mothers.
- Knowledge of infant feeding practices, breastfeeding regulations, and
breastfeeding resources.
- Understanding of cultural and socioeconomic factors that may impact
breastfeeding practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to
accommodate the needs of new mothers.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of paediatric healthcare services.
- Basic Computer operating knowledge
- Ability to use CRM tools for tracking leads and sales progress.
