Conducting Laboratory Tests: Perform a wide range of laboratory tests including but not limited to blood tests, urine tests, microbiological cultures, and other diagnostic procedures as requested by physicians.- Sample Collection and Processing: Collect, label, and prepare patient samples for testing according to established protocols. Ensure proper handling and storage of samples to maintain sample integrity.
Operating Laboratory Equipment: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, analyzers, and other specialized equipment. Perform routine maintenance and calibration to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Data Entry and Record Keeping: Record test results accurately and enter them into the laboratory information system (LIS). Maintain detailed records of tests performed, including patient information, test results, and quality control data.
Quality Control and Assurance: Perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and precision of test results. Identify and troubleshoot any issues with test performance or equipment malfunction.- Adherence to Safety Regulations: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Handle hazardous materials and biohazardous waste according to regulatory guidelines.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and communicate any critical findings or abnormal results to physicians in a timely manner.
Requirement-
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent certification/license required.
- Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
