- Organize work by laboratory orders with specimen labeling, sorting specimens, checking labeling, loading specimens, arranging reports for delivery, keeping work surfaces clean and orderly.
Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced trouble shooting, calibrating equipment utilizing approved testing procedures and monitoring quality control measures and protocols.
Provide test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating laboratory equipment.
Identify and communicate abnormal patient conditions by alerting lab supervisor, the pathologist, the patient physician or nurse reporting mandated information to the public health department or other designated officials.
Contribute to a safe and secure environment for patient, visitors, physicians and co-workers by following established procedures, complying with legal regulations.
Maintain patient confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential.
Serve and protect the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirement and NABL standards.
Maintain blood storage, sending duly signed requisition for specific blood units to blood bank, receiving the units of blood, identifying and checking the labeling, entering in the record book, storage in refrigerator, checking the stock and maintaining adequate temperature and issuing blood units whenever required.
Blood grouping and cross matching of the donor blood bag and the patient blood sample before issuing the blood unit.
Process histopathology and cytology samples.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualification: DMLT / BSc (MLT)
Experience: 5-10 years of hands on experience preferably in NABH/NABL accredited hospitals / laboratories.
Strong analytical abilities to provide accurate diagnosis.
