Overview
The L3 Network Support Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the company's network infrastructure. They are responsible for providing advanced technical support for network-related issues, optimizing network performance, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve complex network issues and provide advanced technical support
- Design, implement, and support network infrastructure solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless network operations
- Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning activities
- Implement and maintain network security measures
- Monitor network performance and ensure high availability
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to network outages
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation
- Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of new network technologies
- Conduct regular network health checks and audits
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in network support and administration
- Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds)
- Proficiency in firewall configuration and management
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and network security principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
