We are seeking a dedicated L1 Network Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the upkeep, configuration, and reliable performance of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization environments.

Job description
Oversee the upkeep, configuration, and reliable performance of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization environments.
Manage installations and upgrades for hardware, software, and virtual servers, integrating automation processes to enhance efficiency.
Run diagnostics to identify hardware and software errors, document issues and resolutions, prioritize problems, and assess the impact of each issue.
Create technical specifications and documentation for IT staff to assist in planning and implementing infrastructure updates or new installations.
Perform or assign regular backups, implement data protection strategies, and establish disaster recovery and failover protocols.
Oversee desktop support efforts to resolve application, workstation, and equipment issues promptly, minimizing disruption.
Plan for capacity, storage, and database performance to support organizational needs.
Install and configure necessary software and hardware for optimized performance.
Oversee network servers and technology tools to ensure smooth operation.
Set up user accounts and configure workstations as needed.
Monitor system performance and maintain systems in line with operational requirements.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any system or network outages efficiently.
Ensure security by managing access controls, backups, and firewalls.
Regularly upgrade systems to the latest releases and hardware models as necessary.
Requirements and skills
Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or in a similar role.
Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls.
Proficient in storage devices, particularly NAS.
Strong knowledge of databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
Skilled in managing both Linux and Windows servers (including Samba Server, Mail Server, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory).
Solid understanding of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery methods.
Familiarity with a variety of operating systems and platforms.
Excellent grasp of best practices in server infrastructure management, control, and monitoring.
Experience with firewalls, VPN implementation, remote troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
Ability to set up and configure server hardware effectively.
Knowledgeable in backup and recovery software and methodologies.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, RHCE) are a plus.
