Practice Area
The Corporate Finance & Strategy Practice (CFS) combines rich expertise in corporate strategy concepts with a management methodology designed to create sustainable value-add for BCG clients. Our team provides extensive experience in planning and implementing corporate transactions including merger & acquisition deals and divestitures. We deliver analytic approaches that allow senior management to effectively deal with challenges such as generating growth, managing a portfolio of assets, forming a world-class finance organization, understanding risk, and responding to the way capital markets assess companies today. Taking swift action in turning around and restructuring a business for long-term survival is also part of our offering.
What You'll Do
As a Knowledge Analyst (KA) within BCG's Corporate Finance & Strategy (CFS) - ValueScience Center (VSC), you will work in a growing global team across Singapore, India, Munich, London, and North America, providing Corporate Finance & Financial Modelling expertise and insights whilst deployed regularly on case and proposal work. You'll serve as a thought partner and content expert to case teams and topic leaders, helping structure and solve complex issues.
Additionally, you will support your Corporate Finance & Shareholder Value topic in developing existing & new Financial Models, Intellectual Property and Knowledge Assets, applying the Total Shareholder Return (TSR) concept. You will work on commercialization efforts for the topic, in conjunction with business leaders, supporting marketing efforts, conferences and publications.
The Corporate Finance and Strategy (CFS) practice drives client success by helping the C-Suite win the next game-and build competitive advantage and maximize value creation while doing so. We turn strategic insights into ambitious agendas for successful transformations and lasting impact.
The CFS practice is the home to the ValueScience Center (VSC) which focuses on Applied Corporate Finance and Valuation topics. The VSC team serves as BCG's think tank, providing superior corporate finance, financial management, valuation, and financial strategies to clients. Our team of 35+ experienced professionals, including MBAs, CFAs, CPAs, and statisticians, is spread across five global locations (Singapore, India, Munich, London, and North America).
Key roles expectations as Knowledge Analyst in BCG's VSC team
Collaborate with consulting teams to provide Corporate Finance and Financial Modelling expertise
Conduct financial analyses (e.g. financial statement analysis, peer benchmarking, valuation), build financial models, and generate data-driven insights for clients
Derive initial insights and recommendations based on your analyses
Craft clear and compelling written communications, including structured emails and impactful PowerPoint slides, to share Insights and recommendations
Partner with senior+ analysts and consulting team members across regions, managing workstreams, expectations, and deadlines effectively
Contribute to the creation and codification of knowledge into intellectual property and frameworks for future use within BCG
What You'll Bring
1 year of consulting experience, preferably with Big 4 Corporate Finance / Valuation / M&A / Financial Modelling teams Consulting experience is strongly preferred
Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance with an excellent academic track record. Advanced degrees are preferred
CFA program levels I/II/III or equivalent preferred
YOU'RE GOOD AT
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling is crucial, encompassing the ability to build integrated three-statement financial models from scratch with minimal supervision
Passionate and knowledgeable about the capital market landscape, with foundational knowledge of valuation concepts and techniques, financial ratios, and able to interpret company filings and analyst reports
Good understanding of Merger and Acquisition/Spin-offs process
Proficient in evaluating standalone projects/investments by building detailed DCF models and supporting recommendations with project IRR, NPV, and ROI
Effective written communication using Microsoft Outlook for emails and PowerPoint for deliverable slides
Experience with financial databases like S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv, Bloomberg, Pitchbook, and Preqin, including excel plug-in proficiency
Basic skills in data analytics and visualization tools like Tableau and Alteryx

The Knowledge & Analytics Team (K&A) is a group of functional and/or industry experts leveraging deep domain knowledge to enable insight for case teams and clients. K&A members are affiliated to BCG Practice Areas, plugged into the strategic agenda and building and deploying leading edge IP data tools/assets to deliver insight.
BCG's K&A Team members have the opportunity to be staffed on cases and help co-create insights with case teams and clients through expert perspectives on industry trends, delivery of proprietary data or tools in a particular function and complex research and analysis of market information. K&A members also support the PA's business development and proposals and help to organize and codify the knowledge that enables BCG to deliver superior business value for its clients.
