The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for assisting the kitchen staff with food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring that all kitchen equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and organized. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a passion for food and a strong work ethic.
Food Preparation: Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting ingredients as directed by the chefs.
- Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that all surfaces, equipment, and utensils are clean and sanitized.
Dishwashing:
Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils, ensuring they are ready for use by the kitchen staff.Stock Management:
Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring that all items are properly labeled, stored, and rotated according to health and safety guidelines.Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, ensuring that all appliances are in good working order.
- Waste Management: Dispose of kitchen waste in accordance with health and safety regulations, ensuring that waste disposal areas are clean and organized.
Support to Chefs:
Provide support to the chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods, helping with plating, garnishing, and other tasks as needed.Compliance:
Follow all health and safety regulations, including food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.Teamwork: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and timely service.
Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.- Good physical stamina, as the job requires standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects.
