We are hiring Junior Quantity Surveyor for a leading Construction Company
Overview
The Quantity Surveyor plays a critical role in the construction industry by managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects. They ensure that the projects are completed within budget, and their job is crucial in ensuring the profitability of construction projects. The Site Quantity Surveyor also plays a vital role in managing contractual and financial aspects of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
- Assessing and negotiating variations in the contract
- Advising on procurement strategy
- Valuing completed work and managing payments to contractors
- Providing advice on contractual claims and disputes
- Managing project costs and budgets
- Undertaking cost analysis and cost control
- Preparing and analyzing costings for tenders
- Managing subcontractors
- Preparing and maintaining records, reports, and relevant documents
- Assisting in risk identification and management
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders
- Contributing to the enhancement of the company's policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Proven work experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office suite
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
- Excellent understanding of contract law and legal requirements
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Project management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- Professional certification in Quantity Surveying is a plus
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Adaptability and willingness to travel to construction sites
