We are excited to announce an opportunity for a talented Jr Pipeline Developer to join our dynamic team, specializing in the development of tools that enhance workflows in the production of high-quality Visual Effects (VFX) imagery. In this role, you will be instrumental in coding, debugging, and maintaining software that supports the entire VFX pipeline, from asset management to rendering and compositing. Responsibilities:
- Developing and supporting tools to accelerate workflow in the production of high-quality Visual Effects imagery.
- Code, debug, document, and maintain portions of the software
- Perform unit and integration testing
- Supporting the testing process and troubleshooting issues and resolving them.
- Contribute to technical and user-facing documentation.
- Participate in the complete VFX pipeline development cycle, from asset management to rendering and compositing.
- Maintain and support created tools; fine-tune and troubleshoot as needed
- Write Technical Briefs and documentation
Requirements:
- 3+ years of Python experience and/or C++ experience
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or similar discipline/experience(required)
- Experience and in-depth knowledge with Linux-based and Windows-based development
- Excellent detail-oriented, problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts, principles, and solutions
- Strong ability to work as a team and collaborate, as well as individually meet coding goals
- Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Nice to haves:
- Experience using one or more of the common VFX APIs (Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Deadline etc).
- Experience with Shotgrid Python API, SGTK
- Experience with runtime rendering APIs, like DirectX or OpenGL (preferred)
- Experience with user interface design in QT/PyQT/PySide
- Experience in Pixar's USD, scene descriptor
- Experience with Agile software development
- Understanding of scheduling, task estimates and capacity planning
- An understanding of production processes for film and television is preferable
