Job Description for Financial Accountant
This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices. The ideal candidate will excel in creating and managing invoices, maintaining financial trackers, preparing CTC breakups, preparing power point presentations, and handling administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
Invoicing and Accounts Payable / Receivables:
Manage all invoicing activities, ensuring timely and accurate billing to customers.
Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivables process, including the review, coding, and processing of vendors invoices.
Reconcile vendor statements, ensuring timely payments and resolving any discrepancies.
Maintain and update the general ledger for accounts payable transactions.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. sales revenues and liabilities).
Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, if applicable.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
GST Filing and TAX Filing:
Prepare and file GST returns on a regular basis, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Handle income tax filings and ensure timely and accurate submission to tax authorities.
Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, and implement best practices to ensure compliance.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and documented.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
Forecast sales and expenses to manage finances effectively.
Provide variance analysis and explanations for significant deviations from budgeted amounts.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances and areas for improvement.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
Familiarity with key financial metrics such as ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue), EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization), and gross profit.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial accounting role.
Proven experience in an accounting or finance role with responsibilities in invoicing, financial tracking, and CTC breakdowns.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Zoho, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle), Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and PowerPoint.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
