Job Purpose -

DESIGN FORUM is seeking for a talented Junior Architect to join our growing architecture & Interior Design firm. As a Designer working under the direction of a Senior Designer, you will collaborate in the design of innovative retail environments. You will be working to elevate brand experiences through the development of 2D and 3D consumer-facing design. You will be assisting on medium to large projects with a strong creative vision that involves and requires multiple specialized disciplines and individuals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CAD and 3D modeling, and a passion for creating beautiful and functional designs.

Responsibilities

Outline Client Design objectives.

Conceptualize and sketch Design Plans.

An understanding of branding and the latest trends within retail, F&B, and commercial environments.

Develops technical designs and edits architectural drawings to ensure an exemplary solution is delivered that meets quality parameters, project timelines, and budgetary requirements.

Prepare development design, conceptual drawings, floor plans, and elevations through the use of AutoCAD and other advanced design software tools.

Use AutoCAD to prepare architectural and design drawings for the purpose of construction design documentation Prepare design drawings for the building shell, as well as floor plans and elevation, site plans, and occasional on-site visits.

Prepare detailed site plans for new construction, reviewing site requirements for city code and location requirements while maintaining brand/image.

Assist with conceptual design, construction documents, material research, code analysis, and preliminary specifications.

Review shop drawing submittals under the direction of the Project Architect.

Ability to draw or represent design thinking using traditional design tools, including hand sketching.

Ability to produce creative print collateral and digital and environmental solutions across multiple 2D and 3D applications.

Ability to integrate brand messaging, colour, imagery, type, and composition into deliverables.

Expertise in creating big ideas and innovative thinking.

Professional approach to time, costs, and deadlines What You'll Need.

Degree in graphic design, digital design, visual communication, or related area required.

1 to 2 years of design experience working in retail environments, and F & B Projects.

Knowledge of design and retail trends.

Experience with software; Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.

Visual awareness and an eye for detail.

Knowledge of Preparation of BOQ.

Conceive and implement concepts, guidelines, and strategies in various creative projects and oversee them to completion.

Design & Present unique and well-crafted copy that meets clients needs.

Key Success Factors

Can leverage design processes and best practices to ensure design deliverables and timelines are met.

Ability to collaborate with peers, design counterparts, and partner groups to ensure project design continuity across all areas of focus.

Keen understanding of the relevance and implication of social media on brand reputation and consumer awareness.

The Successful Applicant should have :

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field.

Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp,Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), MS Officeand other design software.

Proficiency in written and verbal communication, and ability to work efficiently in a team setting

0- 2 years of experience.

• Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures.Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations and construction methods
• Ability to prepare detailed working drawings, designs, plans, models and schemes
• Highly organized, detail-oriented individual, with excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Creative and innovative thinker, with exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and strategically

Experience in Retail and F&B projects.
