Azure Cloud Network Administrator
Job Description
As a Azure Cloud Network Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the network infrastructure within the Azure cloud environment. Your role will involve ensuring the availability, performance, and security of cloud networks, including virtual networks, subnets, security groups, and connectivity to on-premises and external resources. Your expertise in Azure networking services and protocols will play a crucial role in maintaining a reliable and optimized network architecture.
Responsibilities
- Azure Network Configuration: Design, implement, and manage Azure virtual networks, subnets, IP address ranges, and network security groups to establish secure and efficient communication between cloud resources.
- Connectivity Setup: Configure virtual private networks (VPNs), Azure ExpressRoute, and Azure Bastion to establish connections between Azure and on-premises environments, ensuring secure and reliable data transmission.
- Network Security: Implement and manage network security groups, firewall rules, and network access control lists to safeguard cloud resources from unauthorized access, following industry best practices and compliance requirements.
- Load Balancing and Traffic Management: Configure and manage Azure Load Balancers, Application Gateways, and Traffic Manager to distribute network traffic, improve application availability, and optimize performance.
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, diagnose connectivity issues, and troubleshoot network-related incidents using Azure Monitor, Network Watcher, and other diagnostic tools.
- Network Resilience and Redundancy: Implement network redundancy and failover strategies to ensure high availability of applications and services, utilizing Azure availability zones and virtual network peering.
- Hybrid Cloud Networking: Collaborate with teams managing on-premises networks, establish connectivity with hybrid cloud scenarios, and troubleshoot connectivity challenges between Azure and on-premises environments.
- Network Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, ARM templates, or other scripting languages to streamline network deployment and configuration processes.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network architectures, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
- Network Optimization: Analyze network traffic patterns, identify bottlenecks, and propose optimizations to enhance network performance and resource utilization.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application developers, security experts, and system administrators, to ensure a cohesive and secure cloud infrastructure.
- Azure Service Integration: Integrate network services with other Azure services such as Azure Active Directory, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Azure Virtual Machines to create end-to-end solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate preferred.
- Proven experience as a Level 1 or Junior Network Administrator, with a focus on Azure networking.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP protocols, and network security principles.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Azure networking services, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools within the Azure ecosystem.
- Experience with network automation and scripting using tools like PowerShell.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
