Join our dynamic team at Orion, where you'll work with a Fortune 500 client, a global leader in the fintech and payments industry. As a Java developer, you'll play a crucial role in creating innovative and high-quality financial solutions. Your responsibilities will include translating high-level designs into detailed low-level designs, class diagrams, and flow charts; ensuring thorough documentation; and proactively managing process gaps, risks, and impediments through timely follow-ups and escalations. We're looking for a passionate developer with an eye for detail and a proactive mindset, ready to make a significant impact in the fintech world.
What you will do:
- Conduct development activities using stringent source code control procedures
- Develop estimates for design, development, and unit testing of application functionality for the assignment
- Understand requirements through different sources of information/documents available with the team
- Assist Architect(s) in designing activities and estimation of the work required
- Learn the best practices and methodology used in the program and adhere to the standards
- Work on technical design, coding, and Unit Testing of the code written as per the program standards and guidelines
- Adhere to the processes followed for development in the program
- Mentor/train existing and new team members
- Identify and collaborate with all necessary stakeholders in order to come to terms or reach an agreement in accordance with defined project goals with little to no assistance
- Work successfully in a team environment and demonstrate a willingness to help team members in achieving their project goals if required
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for delivering assigned tasks and deliverables within the established schedule
- Report to the Project Manager on the status and progress of work and be accountable for timely completion with quality
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor's degree required; relevant, equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree requirement
- 10+ years of IT experience in the software development lifecycle using Java.
- Strong technical skills in Java, REST APIs, etc.
- Strong working knowledge of Java technologies like Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0 (EJB 3) Specification
- Experienced in JSON and RESTAPIs
- Strong understanding of Microservice Architecture / Concepts
- Experience in cloud solutions, e.g., AWS, ARO
- Experience working in Agile Teams and have a good understanding of Agile methodologies
- Experience with performance monitoring & optimizing, Encryption standards, and third-party integrations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
What would be great to have:
- Experience in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Jenkins deployments and pipelines
- Can-do attitude with a delivery focus
- A commitment to staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies
- Good verbal and written communication abilities to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
