Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- SOX Compliance and Auditing:
- Perform SOX compliance audits focusing on IT controls and processes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Identify control deficiencies and provide recommendations for remediation.
- Risk Management:
- Assess and analyze financial risks associated with IT processes and systems.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on risk management practices.
- Control Articulation and Implementation:
- Articulate the importance of controls and their impact on financial risk to stakeholders.
- Design and document IT controls, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure controls are implemented effectively and operate as intended.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to various stakeholders, including senior management.
- Work closely with US-based management to report on compliance status, audit findings, and risk management activities.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to ensure SOX compliance and address any issues.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of SOX compliance activities, audit results, and remediation efforts.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on SOX compliance status and financial risk assessments.
- Keep updated with industry best practices and regulatory changes related to SOX compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in SOX compliance and audit, particularly within IT departments.
- Strong understanding of SOX requirements and internal control frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to articulate complex controls and risk management strategies to various stakeholders.
- Experience working with international teams, particularly with US-based companies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Relevant certifications such as CISA, CIA, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks such as COSO and COBIT.
- Familiarity with audit management software and tools.
