Job Description
- The role focuses on supporting eGain employees in their consumption of corporate IT services, including Laptops and servers, along with its security, corporate networks, and various vendor services.
- The corporate IT environment includes Laptops with Windows 10/11 and MacBooks, O365 applications, VMWARE HOST clusters, a LAN and WiFi office network, and a WAN network connecting all eGain locations with site-to-site VPNs.
- A global IT team is spread across all eGain corporate locations and works on a Global IT support model.
- The role requires understanding users and businesses requirements and finding options to fulfill those by working in a team environment.
- IT vendor coordination in making purchases and working with vendor support.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support to eGain users for Laptops, servers, and other corporate IT services issues. Use the IT Helpdesk system to track, update, and document IT helpdesk cases.
- Work with the Global IT team to obtain and facilitate the help needed to fix the users issues.
- Follow the IT processes that require specific routine tasks and follow certain checklists to maintain the optimal health of IT services.
- Work on core IT services such as VMware setup, various backups, their lifecycle, various Microsoft services, VPN connectivity, softphone services, and the Wi-Fi network.
- Produce weekly reports on the summary of tasks performed and follow up on escalations.
- Work with technology vendors to fulfill service/license requirements and explore new services based on needs.
- Produce scripts and automation to handle reoccurring tasks for speedy and error-free executions.
- Keep internal records up to date by timely feeding data to the IT systems and internal portals.
Qualifications And Skills
- Engineering graduate with 5+ years of experience.
- In-depth working experience on Microsoft Windows servers (including Active Directory and DNS), windows 10/11, Dell Laptops, MacBook, and Office 365 administrations.
- Knowledge of VMWARE and Networking technologies (including VPN and Wi-Fi)
- PowerShell scripting or at least one scripting tool knowledge.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills - oral and written.
- Innovative thinking with ideas to modernize IT services setup.
