About the Team:
The IT Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle management of IT assets within the organization. This includes software and hardware inventory management, procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal. The role also involves coordinating with vendors and ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Asset Management:
1. Maintain and manage an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and
related infrastructure.
2. Develop and implement asset management policies, procedures, and standards.
3. Track the life cycle of IT assets from procurement to retirement, ensuring proper documentation
and record-keeping.
B. Software Support:
1. Oversee the installation, configuration, and deployment of software applications.
2. Manage software licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and minimizing legal and financial risks.
3. Coordinate with IT support teams to resolve software-related issues and provide end-user training and support.
C. Hardware Support:
1. Manage the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of hardware assets, including desktops, laptops, servers, and networking equipment.
2. Ensure timely and efficient troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of faulty hardware.
3. Work with IT support teams to provide technical assistance and support to end-users.
D. Vendor Coordination:
1. Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
2. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors.
3. Coordinate with vendors for the procurement, delivery, and installation of IT assets.
4. Develop and manage the IT asset management budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement and maintenance of IT assets.
E. Compliance and Reporting:
1. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies related to IT asset management.
2. Prepare and present regular reports on asset inventory, usage, compliance, and financial metrics to senior management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
2. Proven experience in IT asset management, software and hardware support, and vendor coordination.
3. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
4. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
5. Proficiency in IT asset management software and tools.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
