Job Description
Monitor and control the production environment in accordance with established standards. Monitor the production environment.
Has a basic understanding of scripting and macro software, operating systems, production control and job scheduling packages.
Able to use operating systems and utility software such as MVS, Jobtrac, UNIX, Maestro, Spectrum, BMC Patrol and Remedy.
Monitor the production environment via consoles in accordance with standard operating procedures, established routine, or under supervision.
May assist in restart jobs; may consult technical staff when the cause of the problem is not apparent. Continuously observes equipment operation and reports deviations or malfunctions.
Assist in maintaining records to supplement logs, including problem documentation, actions taken, file identification and similar data.
Familiar with printer operations.
Perform related duties as assigned or requested.
May assist and help train lower level operators.
Receives general supervision and is competent in most phases of computer operations to work on own most of the time.
