Role Description
The Interior Design Faculty is responsible for teaching courses in interior design theory, history, technical skills,design process and studio practice. They provide instruction that prepares students for careers in interior design, emphasizing both theoretical knowledge and practical application.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Teaching and Curriculum Development:*
-Deliver courses in interior design, ensuring alignment with program goals and industry standards.
-Create lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that foster student learning and engagement.
-Incorporate current trends, technologies, and best practices in interior design into the curriculum.
*Student Mentorship:*
-Advise and mentor students on academic and career-related matters.
-Provide constructive feedback on student work to support their growth and development.
-Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking.
*Professional Development:*
-Stay updated with developments in the field of interior design through research, conferences, workshops, and professional memberships.
-Maintain professional connections and networks within the industry.
*Collaboration and Service:**
-Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to enhance the overall educational experience and curriculum coherence.
-Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other service activities.
Qualifications
-Masters degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
-Prior teaching experience at the college or university level, with a demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students effectively.
-Professional experience in interior design practice is often preferred.
-Proficiency in relevant software and technologies used in interior design education.
