Position Title: Derivatives Trader
Department: Institutional Equities Broking
Position Overview: The Derivatives Trader will support the business in managing significant trade volumes, focusing on trade reconciliation, currency risk management, and position risk management. The individual will be responsible for managing the main trader's daily P&L and market risk for a range of financial products, including single stock swaps, bonds, custom baskets, ETFs, indices, and stock derivatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily trading activities for various derivatives products such as single stock swaps, index swaps, and ETFs.
- Develop and implement trading strategies with a focus on optimizing returns and managing risk.
- Liaise with onshore brokers, clearinghouses, and custodians for cash and margin management.
- Oversee the reconciliation of trades, monitor currency and position risk, and ensure adherence to risk management protocols.
- Collaborate with Technology, Operations, Quant Strategists, Product Control, and Risk Management teams to enhance existing trade structures and develop new tools.
- Maintain a deep understanding of Delta One products, including single stock swaps, index swaps, and P-notes.
- Analyse market trends, price movements, and other factors to identify trading opportunities.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate market risk exposure to ensure the alignment with the firm's risk appetite.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or any other relevant degree.
- 8-10 years of experience in derivatives trading, with a focus on Delta One products.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets and derivatives products, including equity swaps, ETFs, and custom baskets.
- Existing relationships with Institutional clients.
- Proficiency in Python or VBA is a plus.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate with various teams.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong desire to continuously learn and adapt to market conditions.
