Job Summary
- Located at L&T Power in Kolkata.
- Seeking experienced and detail-oriented Inspection Engineer.
- Responsible for ensuring quality and integrity of construction projects through inspection, welding assessment, fabrication examination, and quality control procedures.
- Role includes interpreting engineering drawings, inspecting fabrication and structural components, and assessing welding processes.
- Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds and other critical components.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures throughout construction process.
- Required to collaborate with project teams, adhere to project schedules and budgets, and comply with regulations.
- Generate detailed inspection reports and submit daily inspection documentation to project management.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for raw materials, in-process production, and finished products.
- Identify and report quality issues, initiate corrective actions, and monitor effectiveness.
- Track progress of fabrication and construction activities, coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, and resolve issues affecting project timelines.
- Ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors.
- Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure project quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, experience in inspection, welding, fabrication, and quality control within the construction industry, proficiency in NDT methods, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, analytical skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and preferably prior project management experience in the construction industry. Relevant certifications, like Certified Welding Inspector, are a plus.
