Job Description
Research and development
- Drive planning and execution of technical development and maintenance topics in a globally distributed team environment.
- Should be comfortable working with business (responsible for product development and rollout) and IT operations teams either internal or external stakeholders
Responsible
- Responsible Infrastructure architecture planning. Central contact person for all technical questions
- Ensure that the regulations of AIM (Access and Identity Management) processes related to applications are adhered to (including cross GE or cross departments and department specific applications)
- Participate in Security clearance for Infrastructure architecture from the SCLab.
- Build, extend and monitor / maintain the network and server infrastructure.
- Securing seamless IT operations and the availability ensuring business continuity and disaster recovers
Analysis and Problem solving
- Address issues / hot fixes as they arise during the testing and maintenance phases of projects and with High priority during the UAT (Pre-production) and Production stages
Qualifications
Working style
- Structured, abstract and analytical thinking capability
- Expertise in UML, Design patterns (Model-View Controller, Singleton, Factory, Faade etc.)
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, RUP) and practical experience in requirements development, design documents and actual development in a distributed team environment
Self-motivation / initiation
- Should be proven leader in areas of new technology adoption, design approach, software innovation and process improvement
Teamwork / adaptability
- Should be comfortable working in an international, dynamic, and fast paced environment working on different projects in parallel and with virtual team environment distributed globally.
Experience
- Experience with source control tools and Build / deployment automation
- Experience with automation of routine tasks like backups, monitoring and messaging scripts
- Experience with 3rd Party system integrations, API management, API testing
- Experience with Cloud Hosting terminology and Infrastructure architectures
- Experience in Server Hosting environments and concepts such as load balancing, database clustering, and networking protocols like HTTPS.
- Experience with Cloud, Agile, IaaS, SaaS, SSO
- Experience with Terraform scripts and power shell scripts
Qualification
- A minimum of overall 8 years experience in the analysis, low-level design and development of Web-based, multi-tiered applications.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in cloud and on premise architecting and leading simple to complex systems
