Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly organised and proactive IT Manager to oversee our technology operations and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent multitasking abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role requires a high level of technical expertise in areas such as network management, cybersecurity, and desktop support. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of our IT systems, as well as planning and implementing technology projects to support the organisation's goals. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors are also essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Network Management and Security:
- Implement and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring security and reliability.
- Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures.
- Monitor network traffic for potential security breaches and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
- Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
2) Desktop Support:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktop computers, laptops, and peripheral devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop operating systems and software applications.
- Respond to user inquiries and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance of desktop systems.
3) IT Infrastructure Planning and Implementation:
- Assess current IT infrastructure and identify areas for improvement or upgrade.
- Plan and execute IT projects, including hardware and software upgrades, network expansion, and system migrations.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to procure IT equipment and services.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in IT infrastructure management.
4) User Training and Documentation:
- Develop and deliver training sessions for end-users on IT systems, security best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Create and maintain documentation for IT procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to users to enhance their IT skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in IT management roles, with a focus on security, firewalls, desktop support, and networking.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with firewall configuration, VPN setup, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Proficiency in desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS) and productivity software (Microsoft Office, G Suite).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with users at all levels of the organisation.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading IT teams and managing IT projects from conception to completion.
