IT Infrastructure Specialist

Reports To: IT Director/Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to maintain, optimize, and safeguard our company's critical technology infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hardware, software, and networks, guaranteeing seamless support for our jewelry manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

Hardware Management:

• Implement, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, networking devices, and other IT equipment.
• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT hardware assets, including lifecycle management (procurement, upgrades, and disposal).

Software Management:

• Deploy, configure, and administer operating systems and business-critical applications.
• Ensure software licenses are current and adhere to company policies.
• Diagnose and resolve software problems to maintain optimal system performance.

Network Administration:

• Design, implement, and manage our LAN, WAN, and other network segments.
• Continuously monitor network performance and identify potential bottlenecks.
• Troubleshoot network issues and outages, ensuring efficient network operation.
• Collaborate with network architects on network optimization strategies.

Information Security:

• Implement and manage robust security solutions to protect our data and IT infrastructure from unauthorized access.
• Monitor for security threats and vulnerabilities, promptly responding to security incidents.
• Conduct regular security audits and apply necessary security updates.

User Support & Training:

• Provide timely technical support to staff, resolving IT-related issues efficiently.
• Train employees on essential IT tools, security protocols, and best practices.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT procedures.

Data Backup & Recovery:

• Implement and manage secure data backup and recovery solutions to prevent data loss.
• Ensure regular backups are performed and validated for seamless disaster recovery.

Compliance & Best Practices:

• Maintain adherence to relevant IT regulations and industry standards.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in IT infrastructure management.

Collaboration:

• Foster strong relationships with other departments to understand and address their IT requirements.
• Coordinate effectively with external vendors for hardware, software, and service procurement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in system administration, ideally in a manufacturing environment.

Proven experience in managing and troubleshooting complex IT infrastructure components.

Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and virtualization technologies.

Familiarity with data backup and recovery solutions.

Skills:

In-depth knowledge of operating systems, network configurations, and IT security practices.

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automating IT tasks.

Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move moderate-weight IT equipment.

Working Conditions:

A Primarily office-based environment with occasional travel to manufacturing sites.
