JOB SUMMARY

Develops, modifies, and enhances data solutions enabling seamless delivery of data and is responsible for collecting, parsing, managing and analyzing large sets of data across different domains for analysis. Projects are usually of considerable complexity and require a strong knowledge of development tools. Works in most phases of a project and may review work of less experienced staff members. Performs maintenance and provides technical assistance and advice on existing software solutions.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Designs and develops data pipelines, data ingestion and ETL processes that are scalable, repeatable, and secure for stakeholder needs.

Leads the design of the logical data model and implements the physical database structure and constructs and implements operational data stores and data marts.

Develops real-time and batch ETL data processes aligned with business needs, manages and augments data pipeline from databases to data solution structures.

Documents data flow diagrams, security access, data quality and data availability across all business systems.

Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Provides general system users and management with system analysis and feedback.

Influences system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for software enhancements.

Mentors and coaches less experienced staff

Participates in continuous performance improvement sessions to discuss opportunities to improve processes or standards.

Analyzes and resolves computer related problems by coordinating with in-house personnel to diagnose and fix operational difficulty, as well as consulting, advising and training on specialized features and functions.

Follows established configuration/change control processes.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Knowledge of Voice, Data, Video, Wireless technologies

Experience related to database reporting tools, Data model, Erwin, Macros, queries, SQL and Microsoft Office products.

Ability to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty, and incomplete information when evaluating alternatives and making recommendations.

Knowledge of multiple database/reporting systems (SQL, Oracle, .NET, Crystal, Postgres, etc)

Knowledge of basic ETL concepts and systems (SSIS, Informatica)

Knowledge of Structured Query Language (TSQL, PLSQL) and SQL Server Reporting Services

Knowledge of Microsoft VBA

Familiar with Java programming

Experience with AWS managed services.

Understanding of data model design, patterns and principles

Ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.

Ability to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty, and incomplete information when evaluating alternatives and making recommendations.

Ability to work seamlessly within a team as well as manage individual tasks.

Strong technical knowledge of Information Technology field and computer systems

Demonstrated communication skills (written, interpersonal, presentation), with the ability to easily and effectively interact and negotiate with business stakeholders.

Creative and abstract thinking skills to envision and design innovative solutions to business opportunities and challenges.

Proven ability to work independently; designing, developing and deploying solutions, and to deliver projects on time with minimal direction.

Education

BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience

Required Work Experience

Experience with Entity Relationship Diagrams and data modeling tools. Erwin knowledge a plus. (3-5 years)

Designs and develops data pipelines, data ingestion and ETL processes that are scalable, repeatable, and secure for stakeholder needs. (3-5years)

Related Work Experience

IT Work experience working with Relational Database technology and SQL Queries (3-5 years)

AWS or equivalent Cloud experience
