Job Description

We are looking for an in-house industrial designer who has the competence to give shape to their ideas, with an engineering background who understands materials, manufacturing processes, display & control interfaces, and documentation of manuals. Working knowledge of SolidWorks & Corel would be essential. The role requires a work experience of 3-5 years.

Roles & Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Sr. designers to understand their product/equipment design and manufacturing requirements.
Present designs to clients/ internal team and collaborate for modification as required.
Collaborate with other domain experts such as mechanical engineers and manufacturers to ascertain whether their design proposals meet the needs at an affordable price.
Work with vendors as needed to facilitate the design process and support fabrication and testing.
Design and visualize projects using CAD and CAM software.
Identify appropriate materials and production processes.
Identify new systems and processes to drive quality, and efficiency and save costs.
Plan effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time while maintaining quality.
Sketching product initial design ideas which are used for preliminary prototype concepts.
Identify opportunities for new products.
Analyse how a new product ties in with market needs and consumer preferences.
Set design requirements based on briefs from internal teams and external partners.
Research materials and techniques.
Sketch drafts on paper or digitally (for example, using CAD)
Use 3D modelling software to design products and components.
Produce prototypes and test functionality.
Improve the design of existing products.
Gather feedback from product users.

Key Skills

Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
Knowledge of product layout and design (Practical, yet creative concepts), digital circuits, RF Communication, and Electro Magnetic
Interference is an advantage.
Good sketching and concept generation skills
Ability to understand complex mathematical relationships that underpin the mechanical analysis.
Product knowledge and thorough understanding of materials, linear and non-linear behaviour of materials, fatigue, and corrosion
Proficiency in analyse market and regulatory standards.
Proficiency in 3D CAD, Solid works.
Proficiency in two- and three-dimensional computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) and computer-aided industrial design (CAID).
Skills to visualize and create products that fulfil the companys requirements.
Computer literacy and the ability to handle graphically intended and design-centric software.
Knowledge of the current and future trends in product/industrial design and development
