Overview:
The Indirect Tax Associate is responsible for managing all aspects of indirect taxation, including GST
compliance, return filing, and reconciliation processes. The role involves ensuring accurate and
timely filing of GST returns, preparing monthly reconciliations, handling annual returns, and
responding to GST notices. This position requires a thorough understanding of GST laws, attention to
detail, and excellent analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- *GST Returns Filing:*
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9).
- Ensure compliance with all GST regulations and deadlines.
- *Reconciliation and Reporting:*
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of revenue, Input Tax Credit (ITC), and GSTR-2A/2B with books of
accounts.
- Identify discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation reports for management review.
- *Annual Returns:*
- Compile and file GSTR-9 annual returns.
- Ensure all transactions are accurately reported and comply with statutory requirements.
- *GST Notices and Queries:*
- Respond to GST notices and queries from tax authorities.
- Provide necessary documentation and explanations to resolve issues promptly.
- *Compliance and Advisory:*
- Monitor changes in GST laws and regulations.
- Advise the finance team and other departments on GST compliance and related matters.
- Assist in the implementation of new GST-related policies and procedures.
- *Documentation and Record Keeping:*
- Maintain proper documentation for all GST-related transactions.
- Ensure records are easily accessible for audits and inspections.
- *Others:*
- Assist in GST audits and assessments.
- Provide necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in GST laws and practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certification, CA/ICWA Intermediate Can also apply.
- Strong understanding of GST laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
