We are Hiring For Indian Commi Chef
Job Summary:

The Commi Chef for Indian cuisine will assist in the preparation and cooking of traditional Indian dishes, ensuring that high standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene are consistently met. The role involves working under the guidance of senior chefs, learning various techniques, and helping in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation:
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of authentic Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, breads (like naan, roti), and snacks.
  • Prepare ingredients by chopping vegetables, preparing marinades, grinding spices, etc.
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and the chef's instructions.
  • Kitchen Operations:
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, including workstations and food storage areas.
  • Ensure that food items are properly stored and labeled, and that kitchen equipment is cleaned after use.
  • Follow kitchen health and safety standards, including proper food handling practices.
  • Assist in portion control and waste management to minimize wastage.
  • Support Senior Chefs:
  • Assist the Chef de Partie and other senior chefs with various kitchen tasks as required.
  • Learn new techniques and cooking methods from senior chefs to improve culinary skills.
  • Handle and operate kitchen tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Quality Control:
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and portion sizes are maintained according to the restaurants standards.
  • Report any kitchen issues, such as ingredient shortages or equipment malfunctions, to the Chef de Partie.
  • Adherence to Recipes:
  • Follow recipes to maintain consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation.
  • Assist in adjusting recipes based on special dietary requirements or customer preferences.

Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma or certificate in culinary arts or a relevant field preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience in an Indian kitchen, working with a variety of Indian dishes (tandoor, curry, etc.).
  • Experience with various Indian regional cuisines is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking methods (grilling, steaming, tandoor, frying, etc.).
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and passion for creating high-quality Indian cuisine.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen safety.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long hours during shifts.
  • Ability to lift heavy pots and pans as needed.

Work Environment:

  • High-energy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Weekend and holiday shifts may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 15,000.00 - 30,000.00 per month
