Foreman, Electrical & Instrumentation
- The position holder is responsible to safely, timely and cost-effectively lead the performance of all shipyard's related equipment maintenance, day to day activities as per the asset management plans to achieve asset management objectives and therefore achieve IMI strategic objectives.
Key Accountabilities
- Adhere to regulations, quality, security, and safety standards.
- Carry out diagnosis of faults, the maintenance, and repairs to all type of shipyard assets (Mainly process equipment) in a safe, timely and professional manner and return assets to operational service.
- Perform (not limited to) preventive, predictive, condition-based and breakdown equipment maintenance of shipyard equipment in a professional manner both electrical and instrumentation. Demonstrate high troubleshooting skills of PLC/VFD systems, strong understanding of Analog/Digital signals, Sensors, and Limit switches.
- Lead multiple maintenance teams to perform asset management activities safely and environmentally friendly with zero tolerance in the assigned areas/zones of work.
- Provide cost-effective techniques and solutions to attain desired equipment availability & reliability.
- Understand, observe, and support the implementation of Asset Management Policy, SAMP, and Asset Management System.
- Data logging, updating of work completions and work orders (preventive/breakdown checklists) in ERP system as guided by the maintenance supervisor.
- Ensure that maintenance contractors are utilized efficiently, cost effectively and in accordance with company procedures.
- Inspect and test the completed works to ensure safe operation of equipment to user department before handover.
- Lead activities to move, install, mothball, and reposition of assets.
- Communicate with maintenance supervisors and zone superintendents about status-quo of equipment and opportunity for improvements.
- Identify spares requirements and monitor their utilization.
- Shall be a part of project team to lead critical activities like installations, pre-commissioning, commissioning, transition/hand overing, mothballing, reposition of shipyard assets.
- Work within 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard.
- Execute recommended activities i.e., retro-fixing, major overhauls in improving assets values as allocated by management.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Ensure all tools, accessories and test equipment are kept clean and serviceable, and advise line supervisor of spares requirements.
- Follow up and execute FRACAS recommendations assigned to the zone assets.
- Promote a can-do team spirit creating a culture of high standards, work ethic and job satisfaction within the department.
- Undertake continuous training and development.
- Train and impart demonstrable asset maintenance knowledge to co-workers and apprentices and enhance their skills (Train the Trainer) in achieving Saudi Vision 2030.Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
Qualification
- Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong Knowledge of different shipyard production/utility assets operation, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Excellent Knowledge of shipyard assets electrical power, control, and instrumentation systems.
- Strong knowledge of PLC operated / Automated machinery, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Experience
- Minimum 9-15 years of practical experience with shipyards production/utility equipment (CNC controlled Machine tools, Robotic production systems, Transport System Lifting Equipment, Welding equipment, fully automatic fabrication lines, etc.)
