Your future role:
The Block Division and Construction Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of shipbuilding projects by effectively managing block division and construction skills aspects. The purpose of this position is to oversee and enhance construction skill development programs, coordinate ship block division drawings, and drive efficient and accurate construction processes. By focusing on construction skill management, ship block division drawings, and construction technology, the Block Division and Construction Skill Manager contributes to the overall success of shipbuilding projects by ensuring skilled construction teams and optimized construction processes.
Key Accountabilities:
- Block Division Drawings:
- Develop and review accurate block division drawings that clearly define the division and assembly of ship blocks.
- Ensure block division drawings align with design specifications, structural requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to incorporate feedback and revisions into block division drawings as necessary.
- Communicate block division drawings effectively to the assembly teams and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assembly Methods for Block:
- Define and optimize assembly methods for ship blocks, considering factors such as productivity, quality, safety, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to determine the most effective sequence and techniques for block assembly.
- Develop detailed work instructions and procedures for block assembly processes, ensuring alignment with block division drawings and design specifications.
- Train and guide assembly teams on proper assembly methods, tools, and techniques
- Beveling Plan for Skin Plate:
- Develop beveling plans for skin plate assembly, considering the ship's structural requirements and welding specifications.
- Coordinate with engineering and welding teams to determine the appropriate bevel angles and dimensions for each section of the skin plate.
- Ensure that beveling plans comply with industry standards, ship class requirements, and welding procedures.
- Monitor and oversee the implementation of beveling plans, providing guidance and support to the welding and assembly teams.
- Others:
- Prepare and maintain construction monitoring drawings to document the status of ship construction activities.
- Incorporate as-built information, modifications, and deviations into drawings.
- Collaborate with project management and construction teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date drawings.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in degree of Science/Engineering, or a related field.
- AutoCAD Proficiency (training on CAD tools and systems)
- Minimum of 3 to 9 years in any engineering company.
Preference will be given for those had worked in ship and rig building yard, major construction yard, EPC contractor and/or Consultant Company using AVEVA 3D modelling software.
