Job Description
The IGCSE librarian plays a crucial role in promoting literacy and a love for reading among students. They are responsible for managing the school library, selecting and organizing books, and assisting students and teachers in finding resources for research and learning.
The IGCSE librarian is also responsible for teaching students how to effectively use library resources, including online databases and research tools. They must stay up-to-date on current trends in literature and educational technology to ensure the library remains a valuable resource for the school community.
In addition to managing the library collection, the librarian may also be responsible for organizing literacy events, book fairs, and other activities to promote reading and literacy. They must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a passion for working with students of all ages.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in library science or a related field, as well as experience working in a school or library setting. They must be knowledgeable about children's and young adult literature and be able to create a welcoming and inclusive library environment for all students.
