As an IB School IT Executive, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining the technology infrastructure in alignment with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum requirements
You will ensure seamless technology integration to support the educational objectives of the school, while also providing technical support to students, faculty, and staff
Key responsibilities
Manage and maintain the schools IT network infrastructure, including servers, switches, and wireless systems.
Coordinate with educational technology specialists to ensure that the IT infrastructure meets the needs of the IB curriculum.
Provide technical support to students, faculty, and staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Implement and manage security measures to protect the schools digital assets and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
Troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, and software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to teaching and learning activities.
Collaborate with external vendors for procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT equipment and software.
Lead the planning and implementation of IT projects, such as infrastructure upgrades and technology integration initiatives.
Conduct regular training sessions for staff and students on effectively utilizing technology for educational purposes.
Manage the inventory of IT assets and ensure proper documentation and tracking of equipment and software licenses.
Stay updated with advancements in educational technology and make recommendations for improvements to the IT infrastructure.
Participate in decision-making processes related to IT policies, budgeting, and future technology investments.
Prepare and maintain documentation for IT procedures, user guides, and system configurations.
Collaborate with the school leadership to align the IT strategy with the overall educational goals and objectives.
Maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Support the implementation of e-learning platforms and assist in leveraging technology for student-centred pedagogy.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Relevant certifications in IT management, networking, or security (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft).
Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and support in an educational environment, preferably in an IB school.
In-depth knowledge of educational technology tools, platforms, and best practices.
Strong understanding of Securities (Firewalls) networking protocols, systems administration, and cloud computing.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Experience in project management and leading IT initiatives from planning to implementation.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, and administration.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines in a fast-paced educational setting.
Familiarity with data protection regulations and best practices for maintaining the privacy and security of educational data.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving technology trends and integrate new solutions into the educational environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex IT challenges in an academic context.
Experience in managing IT procurement, vendor relationships, and budgeting for technology resources.
