Overview
The IB MYP (Grades 9 -10) Spanish Teacher plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality instruction in Spanish language and literature, as well as promoting intercultural awareness and understanding within the IB MYP framework. This position is instrumental in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for students while aligning with the school's mission and academic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Spanish language and literature to students in Grades 9 -10 following the IB MYP curriculum.
- Implement effective and engaging instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Develop and deliver well-structured lesson plans that align with the IB MYP objectives.
- Assess and evaluate students language proficiency and academic progress using varied assessment tools.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and promote international-mindedness.
- Participate in curriculum development, including the creation of authentic learning opportunities.
- Provide timely feedback and support to students to enhance their language acquisition skills.
- Support and guide students in their personal, academic, and emotional development.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration regarding students progress and well-being.
- Participate in and contribute to professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or related field.
- Teaching certification or licensure in Spanish language education.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Spanish at the secondary level, preferably with the IB MYP program.
- Deep understanding of the IB MYP framework and its principles of teaching and learning.
- Ability to integrate technology and resources effectively into language instruction.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proven ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners in a multicultural setting.
