• Product design
• Create new products, including designing prototypes and 3D models using CAD software

• Market research
• Understand market needs and integrate them with company needs to determine product goals

• Testing
• Test prototypes and finished products to identify issues and troubleshoot

• Manufacturing support
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and can be produced efficiently

• Documentation
• Document the entire development process, including technical drawings and product specifications

• Quality control
• Develop quality control criteria and safety guidelines, and ensure team members adhere to them

• Cost analysis
• Analyze cost accounting issues and prepare financial analysis for sourcing studies

Other responsibilities include:

• Reviewing existing designs and supporting product enhancements or revisions

• Verifying the accuracy of tooling design and work instructions

• Analyzing existing products to identify areas for improvement

• Updating current documentation
